John Coltrane
Blue Train
Coltrane's only collection of sides as a principal artist for the venerable label. The disc is packed solid with sonic evidence of Coltrane's innate leadership abilities.

Sonny Rollins
Without a Song
Sonny Rollins, the "Saxophone Collossus," has released his first live album in 19 years. Without a Song was recorded in Boston days after 9/11, and is Sonny's testament to the healing powers of music.
Wynton Marsalis

Chris Botti
When I Fall in Love
While his ballad album emphasizes the clear tone and gentle spirit that this lyrical trumpeter releases quite naturally, it also serves to exhibit the nuances with which Chris Botti can convince. His subtle improvisations ooze heartfelt emotion from start to finish.

Wynton Marsalis
The Magic Hour
Those with an interest in polemics will interpret the title of the first tune on The Magic Hour, Feeling of Jazz, to be another example in Wynton Marsalis' campaign to define just what is and is not jazz. Given that the lyrics performed by Dianne Reeves read like a dictionary entry for jazz circa 1935 (or earlier), it's difficult to ignore the possibility.
